South Tyneside Local Elections, Whiteleas Ward, May 2024
Dear Residents,
I am delighted to introduce myself as your Labour Party candidate for the Whiteleas, Holder House, and Parkway ward in the May 2024 Council elections. Born in Whiteleas and a proud resident of South Tyneside, I have been married for 39 years and am blessed with two grown-up children, one grandson and another grandson on the way. Family values and the well-being of our community have always been at the core of my life’s journey.
As I embark on this campaign, I bring over four decades of professional experience from the NHS. My career has encompassed various roles, including that of a community psychiatric nurse, Community Services manager, and, for the past 12 years, Senior Commissioner of Mental Health Services across Sunderland and South Tyneside. This extensive background has afforded me a profound understanding of the healthcare needs and social challenges our community faces.
I recognise that being a Councillor is a significant commitment that should not be taken lightly. My life experience and social skills equip me to advocate for positive changes within our ward in alignment with Labour’s values of fairness, inclusivity, and progress.
Furthermore, if successfully elected, I will be stepping into the role of Doreen Purvis, who is retiring from her position as your councillor. Doreen’s dedication and service to our community have been truly admirable. I am committed to building on her legacy and continuing to serve the best interests of our community with the same unwavering passion and dedication.
I want to emphasise my heartfelt commitment to working collaboratively and building on the positive work carried out with your current Labour councillors, Ernest Gibson, Doreen Purvis and Ken Dawes. By leveraging their experience and their progress, we can further enhance our community’s well-being.
I eagerly anticipate engaging with you and learning more about your priorities and visions for our community in the upcoming weeks and months. Together, we can address the challenges and embrace the opportunities that await.
I look forward to meeting you during my campaign, whether at your doorstep, community events, residents’ meetings, or one-on-one conversations. Please don’t hesitate to contact me via email at michelle4whitlease@aol.com or by telephone at 07388075528 if you wish to contact me.
With your support and active participation, we can shape a brighter future for Whiteleas, Holder House, and Parkway Ward. Let’s collaborate to build a community we can all take immense pride in calling home.
Thank you for considering me as your candidate. I approach this journey with a heart full of hope and dedication.
Warm regards, Michelle Turnbull Labour Party Candidate for Whiteleas, Holder House, and Parkway Ward May 2024 Council Elections
